Rural fibre optic broadband ISP Gigaclear has signed a 2 year extension contract with Emtelle, which is said to be worth £10m and will enable the internet provider to keep fuelling their deployments of Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) technology with kit from the fibre manufacturer.
The supply agreement covers microduct and various other fibre cable solutions. Emtelle’s fibre and duct solutions have been used by Gigaclear since 2017 for providing spine, distribution and drop connections to residential and commercial premises, mainly in rural districts.
Gareth Williams, CEO of Gigaclear, said: “It’s a pleasure to have extended this supply contract to Emtelle until the end of 2022. Having worked with Emtelle for many years now, we have witnessed its unrivalled service in terms of support and communication. For us, working with a supplier which is responsive, easy to deal with, and has the ability to adapt to change helps us focus our efforts on our end goal – bridging the digital divide by bringing outstanding broadband to rural communities.”
I’d rather see a press release about Gigaclear’s build progress, but I guess at least they will be able to order the ducting they will need to start the build in my area.
I’d rather see a press release to say Gigaclear had stopped cockblocking the Northern Lot of R100, anything other than that and they can go bust for all I care.
Great stuff, Emtelle are a superb company and a great product.
