Mobile operator EE (BT) has announced that their current offer of free unlimited data (mobile broadband) to customers who work for the National Health Service (NHS), which was due to expire on 9th October 2020 after running for 6 months, is to be extended until 31st January 2021 due to the on-going COVID-19 crisis.
Since launching on 9th April 2020, the offer has been taken up by over 270,000 NHS staff and the operator is still accepting new registrations online with a valid NHS email address (take note that at the time of writing EE’s website seems not to be loading, but that’s unlikely to last long) – it’s also open for those NHS staff already receiving discounts on their monthly mobile plans from EE.
Marc Allera, CEO of BT’s Consumer Division, said: “We want to show our continued support to NHS staff as pressures of Covid-19 remain. Extending our unlimited data offer will help NHS workers as they can easily keep in touch with friends and family, without worrying about their data. Along with the 20% discount we already provide, this is a thank you for NHS staff who work so hard to look after us all.”
