Cityfibre UK Picks Nick Dunn to be New Chief Financial Officer

Fibre optic network builder Cityfibre has announced the replacement of its former Chief Financial Officer, Terry Hart, with a new permanent CFO in the shape of Nick Dunn, who joins the operator after serving a 10 year stint in the same role for Gatwick Airport.

Terry Hart stepped down from the role in July, which meant that current COO, Simon Holden, had to step in to become the acting CFO until a new one could be appointed. As well as working for Gatwick Airport, Nick has also worked with Anglo American and with Centrica for six years in a number of senior finance roles.

On top of that Nick has over 10 years of experience in investment banking, with the majority of that time spent specialising in the infrastructure sector, which is obviously a key consideration for Cityfibre.

Greg Mesch, CEO of Cityfibre, said:

“We are hugely impressed with Nick’s leadership overseeing the financial function of one of the UK’s most important transport infrastructure hubs, while also championing the role of competition to drive benefits for the UK economy and its consumers. The parallels between these objectives and our business are clear. We are delighted to have Nick join our team to help ensure we maximise the impact of our world-class digital infrastructure rollout for the nation.”

The operator is currently heavily invested in their £4bn deployment programme for 1Gbps capable FTTP broadband services (here), which currently aims to cover around 1 million premises by the end of 2021 and then 8 million across 100+ cities and towns (c.30% of the UK) – the latter target is expected to be “substantially completed” by the end of 2025.
