Leicester-based ISP Gigabit Networks, which works alongside Cityfibre to supply “full fibre” style Ethernet services to businesses across the Midlands, has today announced the acquisition of Skyline Wireless – a telecoms and VoIP provider that predominantly covers the East of England – for an undisclosed sum.
The Cambridge-based Skyline Wireless describes itself as a specialist provider of “last mile” wireless internet connectivity solutions, using radio and 4G or 5G technology, to SME businesses across the region. Skyline also offers other services, such as VoIP, UCaaS (Unified Communications as as Service) and managed WiFi etc.
Gigabit Networks hopes that today’s deal will thus provide greater connectivity and internet in areas that have struggled for bandwidth.
Dan Ilett, CEO of Gigabit Networks, told ISPreview.co.uk:
“We’re delighted Skyline is joining the Gigabit family. The pandemic has created massive demand for faster and better-quality connectivity. We can now not only make central city businesses faster, but more rural areas too.
The Midlands is one of the most exciting places to do business right now as the connectivity potential is huge,” said David Yates, CEO of 4 Oceans Venture Capital, a key investor in Gigabit Networks. “Most people in the Midlands haven’t realised the potential speeds and technology that are now available to them. Together Gigabit and Skyline will change that.”
End.
