UK ISP TalkTalk Business has today revealed that they saw a “sharp rise” in business broadband usage during the COVID-19 pandemic (i.e. March 2020 to March 2021), with average monthly usage rising 25% from 172GB to 212GB (GigaBytes). In keeping with that, c.10,000 of their customers upgraded to faster products during the period.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the sectors that showed the largest increase in usage were individuals (covering homeworkers and small business owners), construction and mining. The fact that more people will have found themselves working from home during to the pandemic is a key factor in all this.
In order to keep this going TalkTalk Business said they’re offering £4 off their G.fast based Ultrafast Business Fibre packages for 12 months, with prices starting at £25.95 per month (rising to £29.95 for the remaining 12 months on a 24-month term). Meanwhile, their “full fibre” (FTTP) packages are being offered with the first 3 months of service for free across all speed variants.
Jon Nowell, Director of SME and Fibre at TTB, said:
“Last year highlighted just how critical fast, reliable connectivity is for businesses and their employees. Our team have been working hard to create solutions that help organisations of all sizes to stay agile, support their employees and boost productivity – whether they have access to full fibre or not.
Levelling the playing field when it comes to connectivity is part of TalkTalk Business’ core mission – the pandemic has only increased this need across the UK. Meeting it will be vital to the recovery of our businesses over the coming months and so we are pleased to be offering more businesses the chance to experience faster, more reliable connectivity at a more accessible price.”
End.
