ISP BT Bundles Netflix into Entertainment and VIP TV Packages

BT-TV-Box-Pro

UK broadband ISP BT has announced that their “flexible” Pay TV packages – specifically Entertainment, Big Entertainment, and VIP TV – will now include the popular Netflix internet video streaming service for one monthly payment and on one bill. In addition, the aforementioned TV packages will all be half price for 3 months.

The plans also allow upgrades to HD and UHD Netflix tiers for £4 and £8 which will also give access to Netflix content on multiple screens simultaneously. Customers who already have a Netflix account can seamlessly transfer their account details and saved content to their flexible BT TV.

Siena Pakington, BT’s TV Content Director said: “We know that our customers love watching Netflix shows and films, so we’re thrilled to be able to include a Netflix subscription as part of our flexible entertainment TV packages and offer them an even more extensive line up of the best content. This addition, together with our recently launched BT TV Box Pro means our viewers are set to enjoy the very best TV experience with ability to switch up their viewing month to month.”

Will it be the US catalogue which is three times greater than the UK one?

Their box looks nice. Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the only benefit of this the ability to record? Since the Freeview channels already come via aerial. And one could theoretically subscribe to BT Sport using their monthly pass on a rolling basis using their TV app. Netflix I suppose is discounted here by £5.

They’ve also increased the price. Each package has gone up by £4-8 a month!
