ISP No One Cuts UK Full Fibre Prices on CityFibre and Openreach
Internet service provider No One, which is a residential-focused sibling of business ISP Trunk Networks (inc. Leetline), has reduced the prices on their Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) based home broadband packages from networks supplied by both Openreach and CityFibre.
At present, Openreach’s full fibre network is available to 7 million UK premises, while CityFibre has covered around 1.5 million. But we should point out that No One isn’t live in all of CityFibre’s locations, with their main focus being on the towns and cities of Worthing, Eastbourne, Crawley and these are being followed by Horsham, Brighton & Hove, Chichester & Arun in 2022.
All of the packages come with unlimited usage, an included FRITZ!Box 7530 router from AVM and the option of either a 1, 12 or 24-month minimum contract term (we’ll use the 24-month packages below as they’re the cheapest). All of CityFibre’s packages offer symmetric speeds, while those on Openreach have slower uploads. Finally, installation is free on CityFibre, but will set you back £60 (one-off) on Openreach.

The good news is that both of their CityFibre and Openreach based packages have just got a lot cheaper. For example, their top 900Mbps “Full Fibre” product on a 24-month term is now priced at £52.99 per month on Openreach (previously £62.99) and £36.99 on CityFibre (previously £38.99).

Im confused, why does cityfibres 1gb plans cost so much cheaper when its 1gb down and up, but openreachs 1gb down and 100up is double the price???
Openreach’s prices are regulated. Cityfibre’s are not so they can be more competitive. plus cityfibre are trying to grow the customer base.
Indeed. Openreach pricing is kept higher by Ofcom to ensure CityFibre and others have an incentive to build.
Openreach also cover or will cover a number of areas that no-one else will, so in some cases their costs are higher per premises passed.
Either way it makes sense. The only other reasonable option is a National Broadband Network and we’re probably too far along for that now – 60%+ of the UK will have three FTTP options in a very few years.
NBN was a decade long political football in Australia. The end result was …“sub-optimal”
I just checked and Openreach 900Mbit showing as £62.99 still! Is it postcode dependent?
i got 900mbps down and 115up for £55 from Cuckoo ISP, no contract too
Because no one isp full fibre are by cityfibre network that’s why it much cheaper than rip off Openreach by BTWholesale who are doubled price.
In the forum there was an ISP offering 1gb at £45. Can’t find the post if someone can remember.
Think it was “Zybre”. They state £45 for 1000Mbps on a 12 month contract. Only thing is it appears that like Vodafone it doesn’t always show the package as available at all Openreach addresses nationwide. Some people the address checker comes up saying “up to 220Mbps”. Best bet on Openreach thus far seems to be Cuckoo (£54.99 for 12 months, or 30 day rolling), or Giganet (12 months), or No-one (£55.99 for 12 months) or TalkTalk (£49 for 24 months), or Sky (£55 for 18 months).
Where can I find the complete list of ISPs on CityFibre? Currently they’re building in my area and thought it was only Vodafone who I could buy through. NoOne seems quite reasonable, but are there any others?
Unfortunately not every ISP that offers services via CityFibre is available in every region, mostly the smaller providers.
CityFibre are rolling out a nationwide wholesale service but isn’t available everywhere yet, current ISPs that will be using this are, Vodafone, Zen & TalkTalk. With the likes of Giganet likely to follow.
Is there a list of ISPs on cityfibre? I thought it was just Vodafone at the moment.

Scroll down to the section “Connect to the CityFibre network” where there is a horizontally scrolling list of ISPs which sell over Cityfibre.
However, which ISPs are available in a particular Cityfibre area varies widely, because each ISP has to connect to every POP they want to serve. Cityfibre are launching a national wholesale network which means that there will soon be some ISPs with national reach.
However the National Product doesn’t include all cities at present, so it will still be a bit hit and miss to start with
Yeah they’re still knitting them together with the help of Neos. Should see a bunch more ISPs coming onboard when they can address more premises more easily. Connecting to each FEX is pretty expensive.

I did not need there Free Router (Have a pfSense Box) so they canceled the installation fee 🙂

Agree with Carl, Openreach are doing a considerable amount of rural rollout, this without doubt costs more money, so taking that into account its understandable, but yeah they are also regulated.
