City-focused gigabit broadband ISP Hyperoptic has today announced a key milestone after their “full fibre” (FTTP/B) network connected over 100,000 new build UK homes, with agreements in place to connect a further 100,000 new build properties over the next 12-months. The operator has now covered a total of over 900,000 premises.
The figure of over 100,000 new build homes reflects part of their current network reach and aim of covering 2 million UK homes by the end of 2023. Similarly, the expectation of being able to add another 100,000 new build homes over the next 12-months also forms part of their aim to add 400,000 more premises to their coverage by the end of 2022.
Hyperoptic now has partnerships with over 250 developers across the UK and is working with 17 out of the top 20 housebuilders. It has signed nationwide partnerships with Barratt Developments, Avant Homes and CALA, covering the whole of their new build housing portfolios. It has also just agreed a nationwide partnership with Bellway Homes, to connect all its future new build homes across the UK, which equates to over 11,000 homes a year.

All of the new build homes it connects come equipped with a router and a three-month trial, which means they can immediately connect to an already-activated WiFi before they even start unpacking. This is helping to fuel Hyperoptic’s strong consumer ratings.
Liam McAvoy, Chief Operating Officer at Hyperoptic, said:
“Our approach to new build installation makes us unique within the broadband industry. We measure our success on delivering on time, every time. The timescales and stakeholders involved in a new build development are often highly complex, and we have developed processes and relationships that enable us to work in tandem with developers, so that they get a great experience as well. Hitting this milestone is incredibly rewarding and, once again, showcases that our team is market-leading in every respect.”
We should point out that the figure of over 900,000 premises mentioned today is up from 825,000 in mid-April 2022, which means they’re currently adding about 25,000 premises per month and that’s not far off Virgin Media’s (VMO2) recent build pace; but we’re expecting VMO2 to pick up the pace soon.
Customers of the provider currently pay from £17.99 per month for a basic 30Mbps tier (£22 after the first 24-months), which rises to just £35 for their top 900Mbps package (£60 after the first 24-months). Hyperoptic also offers a Fair Fibre Plan in the form of a social tariff for those on benefits, which starts at £15 per month for an unlimited 50Mbps package and rises to £25 for 150Mbps.
There is a new Bellway Homes estate that started a few months ago in West Lothian and has Hyperoptic.
It’s great to see new build homes have a choice between 2 or 3 infrastructure providers
We just moved into a new build and hyperoptic is not available.
For whatever reason hyperoptic are not associated with crest Nicholson… I tried to get them to install it but no good
I am gutted as I really wanted hyperoptic in my new home.
Please get in touch with our Business Development group and we will do our best to obtain access and provide service if there is sufficient demand in the building. Ambassadors like you can help gathering interest from residents and coordinating with the landlord for obtaining the way leave.
