Network provider Netomnia (supported by UK ISP YouFibre) has today revealed more details about their planned rollout of a new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network in Middleton, Newbury, Folkestone and Dover – these form part of their recently announced build plan to 2023.
The operator, which aims to cover 1 million premises – homes and businesses – by the end of 2023 (so far they’ve done 210,000 – adding around 30,000 per month and rising), is currently being backed by investments worth £418 million and their existing deployment already extends across 48 UK towns and cities.
Earlier this month Netomnia revealed their full rollout plan to 2023 (here) and they’ve now slowly started to release more information on each of those builds. Since piecemeal announcements like this can get quite repetitive, we will this time just summarise the key details using bullet points.

Middleton (£9m investment)
Target Coverage: 30,000 premises
Civil Engineering Contractor: O’Connor UtilitiesNewbury (£10.8m)
Target Coverage: 36,000 premises
Civil Engineering Contractor: MKJ GroupFolkestone & Dover (£16.5m)
Target Coverage: 21,000 premises (Folkestone) and 34,000 premises (Dover)
Civil Engineering Contractor: STL
As usual, all of these locations will see the operator go head-to-head with some gigabit-capable broadband rivals (e.g. Openreach, Virgin Media etc.), and the build also tends to include some surrounding areas. But Netomnia seems to be quite comfortable with their approach of rapid building in competitive areas, while at the same time undercutting rivals on price
The service itself will be supplied to consumers via ISP YouFibre, which offers unlimited usage, symmetrical speeds, a Wi-Fi router, free installation and 24/7 UK based support. Customers pay from just £22 per month on an 18-month term for their unlimited 50Mbps package, which rises to £45 if you want their top 900Mbps plan (£50 thereafter).
Praying that Temple Ewell, River and Kearsney included under the general statement of “Dover”.
Yes 😉
Is that Middleton Greater Manchester where I am, as there are a few Middletons dotted around the country? Had a quick look at the website and it didn’t have any info. However, O’Connor utilities are always digging up the road ’round here!!
Yes, Greater Manchester.
It is part of the Manchester build as you can see on the rollout section of their rollout map. Looks like they are covering the entire north half of the city. It has been in progress for a few months so it’s possible it will be live next month
Did they ever finish something? It looks like they are making a lot of noise and not too much more. As per their website there are locations marked as “live” where they actually don’t have a single subscriber connected (as per people reports)
That would make no sense as companies would want return on the investment cost as soon as possible, especially if you are not the biggest. It could be legal stuff or complications with service transition holding some areas up.
Greets from a YouFibre / Netomnia connection.
Where? 🙂
Hi Mark,
Missed the “N” out again!
But is there any info on the Wrexham build from them yet?
Thanks.
David
