iD Mobile Extends MVNO Network Partnership with Three UK

Low-cost mobile operator iD Mobile (Currys) has announced that they’ve signed a new multi-year extension deal to continue their long-standing Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) partnership with Three UK, which has been in place ever since they first launched back in 2015.

The renewed partnership means that iD Mobile customers will continue to benefit from access to Three UK’s fast 5G network, as well as their 4G network coverage, Wi-Fi Calling, free Data Rollover and VoLTE (voice over LTE calling) etc. But so far as we can tell, the new extension deal doesn’t add anything particularly new to the previous agreement.

The announcement follows news that iD Mobile recently hit the milestone of 1.2 million customers, which makes it one of the UK MVNO market’s largest mobile operators.

Rohit Vedi, MD of iD Mobile, said:

“Since the launch of iD Mobile in 2015, our core focus has been to provide the best value for our customer. The multi-year contract extension with Three will enable us to continue to offer highly competitive products and deals for customers, all whilst working alongside a leader at the forefront of the 5G revolution. We are excited to continue to expand and grow the iD Mobile brand, with the help of Three.”

End.

Is ID Mobile online only? There was a very recent article saying Curry’s had an exclusive deal with Vodafone.

No you can get iD mobile plans in currys stores. I also don’t get the voda exclusive partner pr spin that both currys and voda hit out with recently

“access to Three UK’s fast 5G network, as well as their 4G network”. Is that to say, 3G wouldn’t work on these SIMs?
There’s no question about 2G, it obviously does not work on the Three network.

I think they are just downplaying 3G as they are looking to switch it off. ID mobile always used to work with 3G

Yes 3G does work on ID, but Three are switching off 3G off completely within the next 2 years, so there isn’t much point them highlighting it.
There has never been 2G on ID or Three.

My partner was with ID Mobile on SIM only who were no bother until he left. They owed him part of the month’s advance payment back. Was never refunded so I phoned them and they said that you have to request a refund when you port to another service. I thought it was odd because if we had owed them money, they’d never be off our case about it

For that reason, I simply wouldn’t go back

ID mobile is part of Currys and Carphone warehouse.
Wow wow wow, so I’m not the only one to be scammed with the £175 cash trade in your old mobile for a Google pixel 7 deal. SHAME on you carphone warehouse, as I have 2 contracts running now as the £175 was suppose to pay off the other contract.
My story, seen the deal above, looked at the terms and conditions which stated at the time and I have also taken screen shots of them, “trade in for £175 with a working or non-working mobile”. I contacted CPW and went through the terms and conditions and would my phone be ok to trade in and they said yes. So, went ahead with the deal. When processing the only option I had when trading in my phone under “trade in” was “recycle”, now I wasn’t really bothered about getting any money for the mobile, it was mainly the £175. Everything went smoothly and the computer did not stop me to say my phone was ineligible, as remember from the T&C’s it was any working or non-working phone. Anyway 6 weeks later after several calls to CPW I spoke to them today only to be told that I am not going to get my £175 as the phone was worth £0 and was ineligible. I was almost crying, I felt conned and taken for a fool. I have since been to Thier website and looked at there T&C’s as they still have the deal running and can see it’s been amended. It’s lucky I took a photo of the originals and I have the phone logs, times and dates when I called to enquire. I have put in a complaint after customer services couldn’t help to the tradeuphelpATcurrys.co.uk, I am not expecting a lot but I am going to fight tooth and nail for my money even if it means going to a small claims court, I did everything I could and by the book with Thier T&Cs, surely all the bad press just shows how bad things are CPW, make a men’s and sort things out and when people make contact respect them and the deals you have made. Don’t take customers for fools.

Just got a call back from complaints team, a person called Iviwe (they don’t give surnames) who informed me that they are going to not pay me the promotional value, even though they acknowledge the terms and conditions of working or non-working phone. AVOID AT ALL COSTS, they will rip you off. I am going to a small claims court for this.
