Network builder and broadband ISP Brsk, which is deploying a new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network across the Midlands (rollout plan), has today announced that their infrastructure has grown to cover 350,000 premises (up from 266k on 8th August 2023).
The operator, which is supported by investment worth at least £259m, tends to focus its network on parts of Greater Manchester, Lancashire, West Yorkshire and the West Midlands in England. The long-term aim of brsk is to pass 1 million homes by 2026 – some of their existing locations include Cottingley, Keighley and Bingley, Clayton, Allerton & Sandy Lane, Bradford, Accrington and many more.
The latest data suggests that they’ve managed to add around 84,000 premises in the space of just three months, which breaks down to a monthly build rate of 28,000 and that reflects a clear increase on the 22,000+ premises that we last estimated on 8th Aug 2023. Sadly, we don’t have any updated customer figures or know the latest ‘Ready for Service’ figure (it was 250,000 on 31st August 2023), but no doubt those will be updated soon enough.

The build update came as part of an announcement, which highlighted how the provider has been showing a team from the government’s Building Digital UK (BDUK) agency around their works. Greater Manchester Regional Head, Gareth Cornelius, said: “It was great to welcome the team from BDUK to learn more about our journey, the challenges we face when building full fibre networks at scale and we hope this visit can lead to us working closer with BDUK in the future.”
Prices on brsk’s packages typically start from £25 per month (currently discounted to £18) for an unlimited 100Mbps symmetric speed package (inc. a free installation and router), which rises to £49 for their top 900Mbps package (currently discounted to £30). In addition, there’s also a “guarantee” of “no price rises” during that term and most plans are currently running price discounts.
The operator’s network in Greater Manchester alone currently reaches 157,000 premises and they hope to grow that to 500,000 in the future.

The exact figure is 358k passed and 346k RFS. The gap between the two are MDUs (Multi dwelling units) that they convert to RFS as they get wayleave approvals and permissions from landlords.
East midlands and the east/west midlands border missed out again by another provider.
I wouldn’t trust these figures. Brsk were erecting poles on our estate and have all but stopped due to local opposition.
About half the estate has been completed and I doubt many will be signing up considering how shoddy the poles have been installed.m
Brsk have been trying to get fibre fitted in our block of flats in Bradford for months but my landlord has thrown so much red tape at them that it won’t be until next year. Still dealing with ADSL connection which will be outlawed in a year or 2. Landlord has too much power to block this development that we all desperately need, it makes no sense.
