Leicester-based broadband ISP Gigabit Networks has today announced that they’ve extended the availability of their full fibre (FTTP and Ethernet) services and packages, via CityFibre’s national UK network, to include the Scottish cities of Edinburgh, Glasgow and Renfrewshire for the first time.

The internet provider’s platform can also cater for homes and businesses, as well as business partners (channel), covered by other broadband networks from suppliers such as BTWholesale (Openreach), FullFibre (Digital Infrastructure), Freedom Fibre, Telcom (Giga Britain), ITS Technology, Vodafone and MS3.

Tim Loveday, Gigabit Networks Head of New Business and Channel Sales, added: “Expanding into Scotland is another great step for Gigabit Networks and our partners, and we look forward to supporting them to make the most of the opportunities this presents.”

A&A also appear to have added the same cities to their CityFibre availability, the main text of their CF page still says England but it has the following text..

“Since Mid-January 2024 we have access to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Renfrewshire. Aberdeen, Dundee, Inverness and Stirling are due to be available to us later in the year.”

      Good spot, about A&A.

As for Gigabit Networks, they use CG-NAT by default (increasingly common), but you can get a static IPv4 address for £5/month. And at least they offer IPv6.

Reading between the lines, it sounds like CityFibre’s national network now includes Scotland.
