Business wholesale broadband and Ethernet provider entanet, which had been left to languish under CityFibre’s ownership until telecoms entrepreneur Tom O’Hagan acquired it a few months ago, has this week begun to re-launch with a refreshed brand and ambitions to become a major force in UK business connectivity again.
Just to recap. The sale agreement included existing entanet-linked partners that are served outside CityFibre’s network footprint, along with associated managed services, network assets, systems and support functions. Under the deal, entanet now operates as a “standalone wholesale aggregator” and benefits from “renewed investment in products, systems and customer experience”.
Since then, entanet has benefitted from fresh investment and this week began to swing steadily back into life as a now standalone business. One of the first examples of their renewed commercial approach is a new incentive on Sky 1Gbps bearer services, offering partners three months’ free rental and £250 cashback on every eligible service, with further developments as the company expands its proposition.

Tom O’Hagan, CEO of entanet, said:
“entanet is back, and we mean business. We’ve got a fantastic foundation to build on, with decades of experience, strong supplier relationships and a loyal partner base, with a view to build something that genuinely makes a difference to our partners. That means giving them the products, commercials, systems and support they need to compete, grow and become more profitable.”
Central to entanet’s strategy is said to be their commitment to remaining a wholesale-only specialist, with its success directly linked to that of its reseller partners. The company is thus investing significantly in portals, APIs and automation to simplify the process of quoting, ordering and managing services, removing unnecessary administration and helping partners operate more efficiently.
Alongside this, entanet plans to make greater use of data and analytics to provide partners with actionable insights that can help shape their sales strategies, identify opportunities and improve performance. The business also said they remain committed to “retaining the personal service that has long been a hallmark of its operation … if partners need to speak to someone, they’ll be able to speak to a knowledgeable person in the UK who understands their business.”

That is a name I have not heard for a while, I was with them when they was a ISP years ago, either that or on their network, but I am pretty sure it was with them, before they went with the Wholesale thing.
