Little known ISP CloudScape Connect has reached a new “Gold Partnership” agreement with computer hardware and electronics company Asus, which should enable them to provide related communications equipment (e.g. routers) to their new broadband subscribers.

Reports suggest that BT will today sign a new deal with Satellite Solutions Worldwide (SSW), which could potentially help them to sell affordable broadband to remote rural homes and businesses that suffer from slow Internet connections.

The national UK telecoms regulator has ruled that BTOpenreach does in some cases appear be in breach of several obligations because of the way that it delayed the provision of certain Ethernet (high-capacity data line) services to Vodafone, although the issue of compensation may be harder to resolve.
