Several councillors on the Isle of Wight, which sits just off the South Coast of Hampshire (England), have criticised ISP WightFibre‘s £85 million commercial rollout of a new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network, which they claim has caused “chaos” and disruption across the island.

UK ISP Wessex Internet, which is currently building a new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network to rural homes and businesses in Dorset, Somerset, Hampshire and Wiltshire (Southern England), has announced that they intend to create another 100 jobs in the region to help boost their rollout.

Broadband ISP Trooli, which is building a new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network across parts of South and South East England, has signed one of the first long-term Joint User Pole (JUP) agreements with UK Power Networks. The move will enable them to run their fibre optic cables across certain low voltage electricity poles.

Broadband ISP Trooli, which is currently deploying a new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network across parts of Kent, Hampshire, Suffolk, Surrey, Berkshire, Wiltshire and Sussex, has secured a £67.5m senior debt facility via a consortium of commercial lenders to help them reach 1 million UK premises by 2024.

The UK Government has just launched several new Public Reviews at once, this time for Shropshire, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, Suffolk and Norfolk in England, which aims to identify any existing or planned commercial coverage of gigabit broadband ISP networks. Such reviews help to establish the areas where public investment may be needed.

New UK ISP 1310 (pronounced thirteen-ten), which initially started life in 2018/19 by offering services via Openreach’s national platform, has informed ISPreview.co.uk that they’ve started to build their own trial Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network for homes and businesses in the Hampshire town of Farnborough.

Broadband ISP WightFibre, which is investing up to £90m to rollout a new 1Gbps Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network across the Isle of Wight (South Coast of Hampshire, UK), has teamed up with law firm Trenches Law and apartment block specialist BSC to help boost their deployment.

UK ISP Giganet (M12 Solutions) has today announced that they’re moving to adopt short 30-day contract terms on their gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband services, although this only applies to those they either build themselves or sell via CityFibre’s national UK network (i.e. Openreach based products aren’t covered).

UK ISP Giganet (M12 Solutions) has today announced that their gigabit speed Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband service on CityFibre’s network is being expanded to add another 22 cities and towns, which will bring their total coverage of that platform to 27. The operator has also added some new locations to their own fibre build.
