Swish Fibre Reveals Next 22 UK Towns for 10Gbps Broadband

New ISP Swish Fibre, which last year began work to extend their 10Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network to cover 250,000 premises across the Home Counties (i.e. just outside London), has today unveiled a full list of 33 poorly served towns (22 new additions) where their service is due to be rolled out next.

A new broadband operator called Optifi Limited, which doesn’t yet appear to have a website, has cropped up in the UK market with an ambition to build an open access Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network to “serve primarily residential” homes, as well as some commercial properties and related communal facilities.

The UK Government has handed £2.1m to support a bid by the West Essex and East Hertfordshire Digital Innovation Zone and Superfast Essex projects, which will extend superfast broadband to 113 doctors surgeries and 680 homes across the Broxbourne, East Hertfordshire, Epping Forest, Harlow and Uttlesford areas.
