Mobile operator T-Mobile UK (Everything Everywhere) has scrapped tethering support for Mobile Broadband connections on its £36 per month Full Monty Plan, which originally claimed to offer unlimited calls, texts and data usage with “no fair use restrictions“.

Mobile operator Three UK appears to have shunned new advertising rules by unveiling its new Huawei E3231 USB Dongle (Modem), which its press release questionably claims can offer “super-fast” Mobile Broadband download speeds of up to 21.1Mbps using its latest HSPA+ (3G) technology.

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP / BCAP) has today announced that UK Mobile Broadband operators will soon become subject to the same guidelines that were recently introduced to tackle misleading promotions of fixed line broadband ISP speeds.

Mobile operator Three UK claims that the average monthly data consumption of its Mobile Broadband customers has effectively doubled from 450MB (MegaBytes) one year ago to 1.1GB (GigaBytes / 1100MB) today. They’ve even done a video to celebrate.

Ofcom, the UK communications regulator, has today unveiled its final proposal for the forthcoming auction of “4G” (Long Term Evolution) based superfast Mobile Broadband spectrum (800MHz and 2.6GHz). But sadly, due to constant bickering between operators, the first bids won’t take place until “early 2013“.

Mobile operator and ISP O2 UK has suffered a serious nationwide outage of its Mobile Broadband and phone network (i.e. data, calls and texts), which began yesterday afternoon at around 1pm and continues to be sporadically affecting thousands of customers this morning. MVNO’s GiffGaff and Tesco Mobile have also been hit.
