UK ISP LightSpeed Broadband, which is busy building a Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network across the East of England, has managed to secure another significant funding boost of £60 million. The additional investment comes from specialist investor, Sequoia, and takes their total confirmed pot to £115m.

The UK Government has just launched several new Public Reviews at once, this time for Shropshire, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, Suffolk and Norfolk in England, which aims to identify any existing or planned commercial coverage of gigabit broadband ISP networks. Such reviews help to establish the areas where public investment may be needed.

CityFibre has today confirmed that they’ll begin the £50m rollout of a new gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband ISP network in the Norfolk city of Norwich during “early” September 2021, which follows the appointment of Telec Networks to conduct the civil engineering work.
