Sky Broadband has added a £100 M&S e-Voucher to their Sky Fibre Unlimited (up to 38Mbps) service (currently £10 a month instead of the usual £20), while Plusnet has added a £50 Cashback voucher to their 12 months free (normally £9.99) ‘up to’ 17Mbps unlimited broadband deal and BT have introduced £75 to £125 Reward Cards across all broadband and phone bundles.

Budget ISP Plusnet has unveiled a new round of special offers, which includes 18 months of free ‘up to’ 17Mbps unlimited broadband (£9.99 thereafter), 6 months of free ‘up to’ 38Mbps Unlimited Fibre (£14.99 thereafter) and 6 months of ‘up to’ 76Mbps Fibre Extra at £5 per month (£19.99 thereafter).

Budget ISP Plusnet has reintroduced their offer of 12 months free unlimited home broadband (up to 17Mbps) for new subscribers (normally £9.99 per month) and added in a £50 Cashback discount, although as usual you still have to pay the line rental charge on top (from £15.49 per month).

The telecoms regulator has released their latest complaints report to the end of 2015, which reveals what mobile, TV, phone and broadband providers in the United Kingdom attracted the most consumer complaints. EE topped the naughty list for broadband, while TalkTalk dominated for fixed line phone gripes.

The telecoms regulator has today published their re-jigged annual 2016 report into the Internet performance of the United Kingdom’s largest fixed line home broadband ISPs and their customers, which reveals that the average home download speed has jumped from 22.8Mbps last year to 28.9Mbps now. But the gap between rural and urban areas is still significant.

Consumer magazine Which? has this week published the outcome from their latest reader survey of broadband ISP satisfaction, which saw Zen Internet and Utility Warehouse win the highest ratings. Unfortunately the same could not be said for TalkTalk, which had the lowest score by far.

The Advertising Standards Authority has banned an old website advert for Plusnet’s broadband packages, which “misleadingly” claimed to offer a “TOTALLY UNLIMITED” and “Truly unlimited” service with no usage limits. But in reality there was a poorly explained traffic management policy.

Internet provider PlusNet Business has today reduced the price of their ‘up to’ 18Mbps unlimited broadband package to £3.50 +vat per month for the first 12 month contract (£15 thereafter), but you still need to pay £12.50 per month for line rental on top or £10.50 on a 24 month term.

UK ISP Plusnet has extended their 12 months free unlimited broadband (up to 17Mbps) promotion for new subscribers to last for a total of 18 months (£9.99 per month thereafter), although you still have to pay the usual line rental charge on top of that.

The latest annual UK Home Broadband Genie 2015 survey has announced that Virgin Media came out top as the overall “Best Broadband Provider“, although Sky Broadband and PlusNet also managed to pick up a few awards in different categories. Sadly TalkTalk often found itself at the bottom of the pack.

The annual uSwitch.com Broadband Awards 2015 were held last night and suffice to say that two ISPs dominated the evening more than most, Virgin Media and Plusnet. Both providers managed to sweep a bunch of gongs in different categories, although Virgin clearly picked up the most.

Plusnet has launched a new offer on their ‘up to’ 38Mbps Unlimited Fibre (FTTC) broadband package, which gives new subscribers 6 months of free service (£14.99 a month thereafter). As usual you also have to take the ISPs Phone Line Rental from £16.99 per month or the monthly equivalent of £15.49 when pre-paid for a year.

UK ISP PlusNet Business has today slashed the cost of their ‘up to’ 18Mbps capable unlimited broadband package by offering it at just £5 +vat per month for the first 24 months of service (£13 thereafter), which must of course be bundled with Line Rental from £10.50 a month.

Budget ISP PlusNet has quietly begun swapping from a ‘Shared’ to ‘Dedicated’ Wholesale Broadband Managed Connect (WBMC) platform via BTWholesale, which is a logical choice given their growing customer base and should afford them more direct control over network capacity / infrastructure.
