The telecoms regulator has today published their latest Q3 2015 complaints report, which reveals the volume of gripes received for all of the United Kingdom’s largest broadband, phone, mobile and TV providers. As usual EE takes a beating, while Sky Broadband and Virgin Media win praise.

A new report from security consultant Paul Moore has revealed that many of the United Kingdom’s major broadband ISPs, including BT, PlusNet, EE, Virgin Media, Sky Broadband and TalkTalk, have significant vulnerabilities in their systems that could be exploited by hackers. But some, such as EE and TalkTalk, did far worse than others.

Internet provider Plusnet has today joined the Black Friday silliness (even though it’s Wednesday) by offering 12 months of free ‘up to’ 17Mbps unlimited broadband service (£9.99 per month thereafter) and they’re throwing in £75 Cashback to sweeten the deal.

Internet provider PlusNet has this week enhanced their 12 months of free unlimited broadband service (£9.99 per month thereafter) offer by extending the promotion to last for the full length of their 18 month contract term.

Budget ISP PlusNet, which have this year made a habit of removing useful features from their service (e.g. 24/7 support calls, 20Mbps fibre upload speeds etc.), has now followed the big providers by removing free UK weekend and or evening calls from their broadband and phone bundles.

Chances are that most of you won’t have heard about the once popular little ISP called Madasafish, which following BT’s purchase of the Brightview group was ultimately merged under PlusNet’s wing all the way back in late 2007. But soon the little fish will be no more.

It’s two weeks since PlusNet’s last suffered a strange outage (here) and this morning the same appears to have happened again, except this time around their broadband customers and a few linked ISPs (e.g. Origin Broadband, John Lewis) are also experiencing connectivity and web (DNS) problems.

Customers of PlusNet can finally regain access to the ISPs website, webmail and members centre services again after they were restored this morning following an unspecified failure that began yesterday afternoon.

Comparison site Simplifydigital.co.uk has today unveiled the winners of their 2015 Customer Choice Awards, which saw most of the big broadband ISPs (except BT and EE) pickup wins across several broadband, phone and TV categories based on their levels of satisfaction. But sadly you won’t find any smaller ISPs listed.

Line rental must also be taken from the equivalent of £12.99 a month pre-paid.

Customers of PlusNet who also take the ISPs BTSport TV offer (only available via the Sky Digital TV platform), which gives them access to BTSport channels 1, 2 and ESPN from just £5.99 per month (HD for an extra £1.50 a month), may be unhappy to learn that the price is set to almost double.
