Good news, Ofcom’s latest Q2 2016 consumer complaints report finds that the total volume of UK Telecoms (mobile, broadband and phone) and Pay TV complaints has declined. Sadly some ISPs have fared better than others, with BT coming out top of the worst for fixed line home broadband.

Some of Plusnet’s broadband subscribers appear to be suffering from a mix of problems with packet loss, high latency and slow connectivity, which many are linking back to the ISP’s on-going efforts to migrate from a ‘Shared’ to ‘Dedicated’ Wholesale Broadband Managed Connect (WBMC) network.

Customers of PlusNet’s superfast Fibre Broadband (FTTC) packages, specifically their legacy ‘up to’ 38Mbps (20Mbps upload) subscribers, have been left in a state of frustration after the ISP’s plan to upgrade them on to the new ‘up to’ 52Mbps (10Mbps upload) tier didn’t go quite according to plan.

UK ISP Plusnet has today recycled their 18 months of “free” up to 17Mbps unlimited broadband offer (£9.99 per month thereafter), but as usual this only works if you take it as part of a bundle with phone line rental and that costs £16.99 a month on top (or the equivalent of £15.49 if pre-paid).
