Ofcom has today published their latest Q4 2017 UK consumer complaints study, which notes that TalkTalk attracted the most gripes for both fixed line home broadband and landline phone services. Meanwhile BT were the naughtiest child for both Mobile and Pay TV.

A new survey of more than 1,900 broadband customers across 12 different ISPs has revealed how each are ranked when ordered by the top four most common service complaints (price hikes, slow speeds, connection problems and router faults).

A new Mystery Shopper study conducted by consumer magazine Which? has revealed that major broadband ISPs are only giving the required information about connection speeds under Ofcom’s Code of Practice (CoP) less than half (47%) of the time, with some (e.g. TalkTalk) doing worse than others.

Customers of the Post Office’s UK home phone and broadband ISP packages have been braced for a series of price rises that will be introduced from 1st May 2018, which will see some services increase their monthly rental by between £1 to £2 extra and call charges will also hike upwards.

The UK telecom regulator’s latest Q3 2017 consumer complaints report has named and shamed TalkTalk for attracting the most gripes in the fixed ISP broadband sector, while the Post Office suffered the same for landline phone services and Vodafone took the most heat for Mobile.

The Post Office has introduced a Black Friday bonus to their existing UK unlimited broadband and phone price reductions, which gives new customers a £30 account credit (available on orders made until 27th November). The downside is that you can only get this on their ‘up to’ 17Mbps package.

Broadband providers Virgin Media and Sky Broadband have today been praised by Ofcom’s Q2 2017 UK consumer complaints report after they received fewer gripes than any other ISP for their service. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for BT and TalkTalk, which attracted the most complaints.

The latest biannual survey of UK phone and broadband providers by consumer magazine Which? has once again named Zen Internet as the best overall ISP (85% for customer satisfaction), but the same could not be said for TalkTalk that continues to languish at the bottom on a score of 40%.

The Post Office has joined the summer discount club by slashing the price of their ‘up to’ 38Mbps and ‘up to’ 76Mbps capable unlimited “fibre broadband” (FTTC) and phone bundles for the first 18 months of service. On top of that their one-off activation fee has been cut from £60 to £30.

The Post Office’s telecoms division has today announced that they’ve completed the acquisition of Fuel Broadband from previous owner New Call Telecom. Apparently the “seamless” migration progress concluded yesterday and 60,000 customers have now been moved.

Reports are coming in that UK ISP Fuel Broadband (formerly Primus Saver), which is owned by New Call Telecom (NCT), could be in serious trouble after customers were informed that the service would be shut down at the end of July 2017 and accounts moved to the Post Office.

New subscribers to the Post Office’s “totally unlimited” broadband and phone package may be pleased to learn that the provider has shaved another 99p off their special offer price, which means that it will now cost £20 a month for the first 18 months of service (£26.99 thereafter).

Ofcom has today published a huge new report into the service quality and provision times of the United Kingdom’s largest ISPs and technologies, which finds that 87% of broadband customers are satisfied with their service and this rises to 89% for landline (phone) and 92% for Mobile.

Consumer magazine Which? has published the results from their first 2017 reader survey of broadband ISP satisfaction, which saw Zen Internet retain the top “Recommended Provider” award for their broadband service. At the other end TalkTalk attracted the lowest level of customer satisfaction.

Ofcom’s latest Q4 2016 (Oct-Dec) consumer complaints study has found that BT attracted the most gripes for fixed line broadband services, while Plusnet did the same for fixed line phone, Vodafone had a similar problem for Mobile and once again BT also came bottom for Pay TV.

The UK telecoms regulator has today published their Q3 2016 consumer complaints study, which reports that the total volume of fixed line Broadband, Phone and Pay TV complaints in the UK has increased, while Mobile gripes declined. Sadly BT came out as the biggest magnet for broadband gripes.
