Rochdale-based UK ISP Zen Internet has quietly stopped selling Openreach’s (BT) hybrid fibre G.fast based “ultrafast broadband” products, which were first launched by the provider back in 2018 alongside average download speeds of 145Mbps (30Mbps upload) or 300Mbps (50Mbps upload).

Rochdale-based UK ISP Zen Internet has today become one of the latest providers to sign-up to Ofcom’s voluntary 2019 Code of Practice on Broadband Speed, which gives residential consumers and businesses both more information on their estimated connection speeds and greater protection when things go wrong.

A new Censuswide survey of 2,014 UK adults that have broadband, which was commissioned by ISP Zen Internet, has found that 75% of people are unaware that using Microwave Ovens could be “causing havoc” for their home WiFi signal and 8% wrongly believe “hitting their router” will improve connectivity.

UK ISP Zen Internet, which is certified as a B Corporation, has today announced that they’re pledging to become the first of the main broadband providers to reach Net Zero by 2028, which essentially means that the company will be removing as many carbon emissions as they produce.

A new survey of 2,026 UK adults, which was conducted by Censuswide for UK broadband ISP Zen Internet, has found that 75% of respondents would not buy a home if they knew the local internet connectivity was poor. The survey added that people would be willing to pay £1,514 extra for a house that has FTTP broadband.

Consumer magazine Which? has today published the results from their latest annual 2021 reader survey of broadband ISP satisfaction, which saw Zen Internet come top with a reduced customer satisfaction score of 70% (down from 84%) in an otherwise problematic year, where 69% of respondents suffered connectivity problems.

Alternative network builder CityFibre has today confirmed the full list of 285 UK cities, towns and villages where they plan to deploy their new 1Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTHP) broadband platform, which will work alongside ISPs like Vodafone and TalkTalk to cover 8 million homes and businesses. Rural areas will also benefit.

A new survey has warned that 24% of UK businesses (33% for SMEs) aren’t aware of the plan to withdraw traditional copper line phone services (PSTN – WLR, LLU SMPF etc.) by December 2025, which will see both homes and businesses being migrated over to a modern all-IP based network for broadband and voice connectivity.

Consumer site Expert Reviews has posted the winners of their annual ‘Best Broadband Awards 2021‘ event, which surveyed their readers in an effort to identify the best UK Internet Service Providers across a range of different categories. But the overall winner, by a comfortable margin, came out as Zen Internet.

Broadband ISP Zen Internet has today announced that they’re reducing the standing pricing on two of their top Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) packages – 300Mbps and 900Mbps – by up to 10%. The provider is keen to point out that this move is occurring at a time when many of their biggest rivals have been hiking prices.

Broadband ISP Zen Internet has confirmed that their new 900Mbps Full Fibre Plus package (£40 per month), which is based off Cityfibre’s UK Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network, has now also become available to homes and businesses in the city of Newcastle, at least it is to those covered by the new network.
