EE Raise Home Broadband Prices and Add Bright Box 2 Router to all Fibre Plans

ISP EE has quietly increased the standard UK price of its fixed line Home Broadband plans by up to £1 per month. At the same time they’ve also made their high-spec VDSL and 802.11ac equipped Bright Box 2 router available on all of their superfast “Fibre Broadband” (FTTC) plans (previously it only came with the 76Mbps plan).

Consumers looking to take one of EE’s packages should note that their prices have quietly increased overnight. For example, the up to 16Mbps capable standard unlimited broadband plans use to start at £5 a month (excluding special offers) but today the price has risen to £6. Likewise their superfast fibre options use to start at £15 but now cost from £16.

As a consultation EE has decided to continue its half price discounts, which last for 3 months on their Fibre Broadband packages and 12 months with their entry-level standard broadband service. On top of that customers will still have to take the operators Line Rental from £11 a month (when paying 12 months in advance or £15.40 monthly).

Unlimited Standard Broadband (up to 16Mbps) + UK Weekend Calls
PRICE: £3 a month for the first 12 months (£6 thereafter)

Unlimited Standard Broadband (up to 16Mbps) + UK Anytime and Mobile Calls
PRICE: £6 a month for the first 3 months (£11 thereafter)

Unlimited Fibre Broadband (up to 38mbps) + UK Weekend Calls
PRICE: £8 a month for the first 3 months (£16 thereafter)

Unlimited Fibre Broadband (up to 38mbps) + UK Anytime and Mobile Calls
PRICE: £10.50 a month for the first 3 months (£21 thereafter)

Unlimited Fibre Broadband (up to 76mbps) + UK Weekend Calls
PRICE: £13 a month for the first 3 months (£26 thereafter)

Unlimited Fibre Broadband (up to 76mbps) + UK Anytime and Mobile Calls
PRICE: £15.50 a month for the first 3 months (£31 thereafter)

Take note that the above prices also include the £10.00 a month discount for EE, T-Mobile and Orange mobile customers in their network area. On top of that EE’s Fibre packages also still come with Half Price Installation for a one-off fee of £25. Contract terms appear to be 12 months for standard and 18 for fibre.

Customers also get 12 months of McAfee internet security, access to the online EE Film streaming service and of course 2 for 1 cinema tickets every Wednesday.
