Reminder – CityFibre Offering £200 Cashback to New Customers
The chances are good that some of our readers, specifically those in UK areas covered by CityFibre’s new Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) based broadband ISP network, who might be considering a switch, may not know about the operator’s latest ‘Switch and Connect‘ promotion and the potential offer of £200 cashback.
The operator has run cashback promotions before, and they’re usually only sent, selectively, to potential new customers who have signed up to receive availability updates via their website. The catch being that you don’t receive the promotional email immediately, and CityFibre has not clarified how they choose who will actually receive the cashback offer itself (I had one after about a year, albeit annoyingly just after I’d already switched).
Suffice to say that experiences do vary, although in the past CityFibre were only offering smaller cashback rewards (e.g. £50). But since 16th November 2023 they appear to have increased this again to £200, which means that those who receive the reward invite and avail themselves of it, such as by signing up to a new CityFibre based ISP / package, could receive the sum in the form of an Amazon (sponsored link) or PayPal voucher.

Officially speaking, the operator has informed us that their promotion forms part of a “limited trial“, although it could also be seen as part of a wider effort to help boost consumer take-up on their new broadband network (lots of operators have recently switched to focus more on generating sales – a key part of satisfying investors). Obviously, don’t try to claim the reward if you haven’t been offered it first, and make sure to then follow the rules.
CityFibre doesn’t broadcast the value of these rewards on their website – that only comes as part of the personalised email and reward link. But the T&Cs for Switch and Connect also make clear that the current offer will only be running until 19th March 2024 (at this point they’ll probably change the offer again).
