Digital entertainment platform Netgem TV has today announced that they’ve added a bunch of new cloud games and FAST TV channels to their UltraHD (4K) IPTV box – PLEIO, which already includes support for the UK’s newest broadband-based live TV streaming service (Freely).
The set-top-box and wireless Bluetooth gamepad, which currently costs £99 one-off (including a 12-month subscription to their optional premium TV and cloud gaming service – 150+ channels and 300+ games), will now benefit from the addition of some new content in order to mark the fact that it’s been 6 months since the new kit was launched.
The new cloud games being added today include NBA Bounce, Backpack Hero, Dome Keeper, Gigantosaurus: Dino Kart, and The Patrick Star Game. As for the new FAST TV channels, they include The Osbournes, Baby Shark TV, Adrenaline+, and Unbeaten.

So after 12 months it is £9.99 a month for some naff channels, which you may find something to watch once in a blue moon and a few games that seems to stuff from years ago.
150+ channels and 300+ games may seem a lot, but not if most of them are not worth bothering with.
You don’t have to take the £9.99 premium stuff if you don’t want to. So after 12 months it’s just a streaming box with access to the regular streamed TV channels and apps, unless you pay the sub.
So what you can get in premium, all tv channels in 1080?
I know that Mark, just saying that the subscription is not good value or don’t seem to be good value at nearly a tenner a month
I’d rather they concentrate on fixing all the bugs with the software!
There is a fair few issues with Freely itself, I know of a few people who have now got a Freely TV, but the majority of gone back to Freeview only.
Agreed, the broadcast streams from ITV/C4/C5 are awful at 1080p25 (converted from 1080i50), but the bugs on this box are annoying. It often reboots – gets stuck in an app you previously exited, lip-sync issues with specific TVs (LG OLED seem to be problematic with it) and functionality issues like not being able to renumber channels or skip/block out ones you don’t want like FAST channels or junk channels.
I doubt it is something I will ever bother with I don’t have a TV licence.
Aaah, but the BBC actually deinterlaces their picture properly for Freely unlike other broadcasters. The only issue, is that because its one of the streams in distribution that is used for iPlayer, BBC1 and BBC2 carry an onscreen ident.
New cloud games being added today include NBA Bounce, Backpack Hero, Dome Keeper, Gigantosaurus: Dino Kart, and The Patrick Star Game.
Great!
Wow, sounds really interesting, if you are a child
Lots of people have children. Is this news to you?
And lots of people don’t. Not really that interesting for the people who will pay out for it.
Where PLEIO wins
1.The only Freely-certified streaming puck with cloud gaming. Freely gives you 70+ free-to-air channels with no aerial. PLEIO is one of only two Freely-certified devices in this comparison, and the only one that includes a 12-month Cloud Gaming Pass and wireless gamepad in the box.
2. 250+ games, no console needed. The 12-month Cloud Gaming Pass includes titles like Mafia, The Smurfs, and hundreds of family-friendly games, streamed directly to your TV. No downloads, no extra hardware. The gamepad is included.
3. Free live TV, forever. Freely channels are free with no ongoing cost. Thousands of hours of free on-demand content (BVOD) also included. After your 12-month Gaming and Extra Content Pass, you choose whether to renew — or keep PLEIO as a free TV and streaming device.
4. Pause live TV on Freely and FAST channels. PLEIO lets you pause live TV for up to 15 minutes on Freely channels, and over 30 minutes on FAST channels. Manhattan Aero offers 15-minute pause on Freely only.
Where the others win:
1. Fire TV Stick 4K Max (£69): Cheaper entry point, Wi-Fi 6E, deep Amazon ecosystem integration. Best for Amazon Prime households who primarily want a streaming stick.
2. Google TV Streamer 4K (£99): Google ecosystem integration, Google Assistant native, same 32GB storage as PLEIO. Best for Google Home households.
3. Manhattan Aero (£89.99): Ethernet port, 2-year warranty. Best for users who only want Freely and don’t need streaming service apps or gaming.
