Cheshire-based internet provider Vispa has confirmed the completion of their 60Mbps (Megabits per second) capable superfast wireless broadband (wifi) network in the civil parish villages of Burtonwood and Winwick (Warrington, England).
The new network, which was first revealed during April (here), has been under construction throughout June and was recently linked up to the ISPs primary North West wireless network. As a result the first homes and businesses are now being connected.

James Ormerod, Vispa’s Managing Director, said:
“With the installation of a wireless antenna no bigger than the size of your hand & by one of our highly trained engineers, we can have people online and connected to Vispa’s new superfast service typically in under 1.5 hours.”
Adam Binks, Vispa’s Sales & Technical Director, said:
“With more and more focus from UK companies, government bodies & schools moving towards the Internet, what were once simple tasks such as helping your child with their homework, are now almost impossible without a high speed internet connection. It’s therefore vital that small rural villages such as Winwick & Burtonwood are not left behind in the digital exclusion zone.”
Prices for the service start at £19.95 per month, which includes a 01925 VoIP account, 12 months AVG Internet Security 2012 software and more. Installation will set you back £149.00 on a 12 month contract, which falls to £99 on the 18 month option. Details – http://www.vispa.net/wireless.php.
Communities interested in having a similar service installed should contact the ISP, which claims that they could “have it enabled in less than a few weeks“; providing it makes economic sense of course.
