Mobile operator O2 UK (Telefonica) has signed a new wholesale agreement with Virgin Media that will allow its WiFi customers access to a free wireless internet service at 120 London Underground train stations from June 2013.
As part of the deal, all existing O2 WiFi subscribers will be automatically registered for free WiFi on the Underground. Virgin Media, which operates the WiFi network, also has similar deals in place with Vodafone and EE (T-Mobile and Orange UK).

In addition Virgin Media has also confirmed that the final 12 stations will be enabled with WiFi this week, which should meet the operators official target of 120 stations.
Gary Booker, Head of Consumer at O2, said:
“We’re excited to bring free Underground WiFi to O2 customers this summer. Our customers want to stay connected wherever they are and will soon be able to check their email, update their Facebook status, shop online, book their next holiday and stay connected to their friends and family right across Tube stations in Central London.”
