UK ISP PlusNet Revamps its Unlimited Business Broadband Packages

Wednesday, May 29th, 2013 (7:48 am) - Score 1,584

Internet and phone provider PlusNet Business has today refreshed its range of business focused broadband and phone packages and introduced a new offer of 6 months half price (only applicable with the 24 month contract option). A new superfast up to 76Mbps Business Fibre (FTTC) product has also been added.

The new packages, which include both standalone broadband packages and phone bundles, also come with a free router and free activation fee. However customers who take the 1 month contract option instead of the primary 12 and 24 month packages will have to pay a one-off charge of £25 for the hardware and £40 for activation.

Customers who take one of the phone bundles will pay from an extra £14.50 a month in Line Rental (1 month contract), which falls to £12.50 on a 12 month contract and £10.50 for the 24 month option; this comes with low cost pay-as-you-go-calls. The inclusion of line rental also drops the price of each broadband service by -£2 per month off the above packages. For example, customers who take the 1 month contract with Business Broadband (25GB usage) will pay just £12 per month instead of £14 (plus line rental on top).

Anytime calls can also be added from +£4 extra a month and a more expensive add-on with mobile and international calls is also offered from +£12.

As usual anybody who lives in Ofcom’s Market 1 area (i.e. the last 10% of the UK’s most rural towns and villages), where there is less competition and or fewer ISPs, will have to pay +£5 more for broadband per month. Thankfully most homes and businesses are Market 2 and 3 where the prices are lower. The following prices are all +vat.

The packages also include UK based customer support 24/7, unlimited email, a free .co.uk domain (2 domains on the unlimited fibre service), optional static IP address and 250MB of web space (500MB on the unlimited fibre service).
