Mobile operator EE (4GEE) has today expanded the coverage of its 4G (LTE at 1800MHz) based Mobile Broadband network to an additional 12 towns around the United Kingdom, which takes the total to 117 towns and cities.
The service will today be switched-on in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Beaconsfield, Blackburn, Burton upon Trent, Coalville, Chester-le-Street, Fleet, Gerrards Cross, Halifax, Hinckley, Houghton-le-Spring and Reigate. The network currently covers around 60% of the UK population and should reach 98% by the end of 2014.

Meanwhile EE’s superfast “Double Speed 4GEE” upgrade is available in 20 cities – Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Derby, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham, Sheffield and Southampton. More will soon follow.
