PlusNet has confirmed that their residential broadband subscribers will gain access to the BTSport TV service from 5th November 2013. But you’ll need the Sky Digital TV (Satellite) platform in order to view it.
ISPreview.co.uk first spotted the planned introduction earlier this month (here) but at the time PlusNet refused to say when it would become available. The content itself includes the BTSport 1, BTSport 2 and the ESPN channel.

Customers won’t have to pay an activation fee for the content but a 1 month rolling contract does apply and the service will set you back £5.99 a month for the standard definition channels (£7.49 for HD).
Nick Rawlings, PlusNets Commercial Director, said:
“We’re really proud to be able to offer this exciting new sporting content to our loyal, existing customers. Our phone and broadband services are recommended by Which? and we strive to be the best in the industry on customer service, but we are aware customers are looking for additional services from their telecoms provider.
We believe this is a very attractive deal for customers who want to view top sports action such as the Barclays Premier League and Aviva Premiership Rugby, especially given the exciting line-up of December football fixtures BT Sport has recently announced.”
Existing customers can sign-up by going to the ISPs online member centre but you’ll have to wait until November for that to arrive.
