The £35.44 million e-Sussex project has today announced the next batch of Phase 3 locations in East Sussex (England), which will benefit from superfast broadband (25Mbps+) speeds under the joint Broadband Delivery UK programme with BT.
Overall the project aims to make BT’s superfast FTTC/P technology available to 99% of East Sussex premises in England by mid-2016 (note: 96% will get “superfast” speeds). Sadly the latest update doesn’t make mention of any dates, although with Phase 2 due to start connecting customers during the autumn then we’d anticipate Phase 3 to follow in either late 2014 or early 2015.

The project, which claims to be running “ahead of schedule despite adverse weather“, is particularly keen to mention Isfield because “it is the only exchange in East Sussex which cannot provide broadband and is only capable of dial up. We know that poor speeds and connectivity hinder businesses and residents all over the county and we are working hard to ensure we reach as many people as possible as quickly as we can.”
