The CSW Broadband project, which recently signed an extended deal to bring BT’s “superfast broadband” (24Mbps+) network to “nearly” 94% of Warwickshire, Solihull and Coventry by summer 2019, has revealed the next batch of areas that can expect to receive faster connectivity in the very near future.
So far almost 30,000 premises in the region have already been upgraded to BT’s faster “fibre broadband” (FTTC/P) network by the project (engineers have also installed more than 140 new road-side street cabinets) and the next batch of locations will bring that service to another 7,800, with the expansion work due to commence from mid-April 2015 and run to the end of August 2015.

It’s worth pointing out that Openreach doesn’t always achieve 100% coverage in new areas and often comes back during later phases to expand coverage through infill. Otherwise Phase 1 of the CSW project aims to upgrade around 40,000 premises (i.e. 91% superfast broadband coverage by Spring 2016), while the recently agreed Phase 2 will expand that to another 17,000+ by summer 2019.
