BTOpenreach has today detailed the second phase of reductions to their business and ISP focused Ethernet products, such as Ethernet Access Direct (EAD) and Ethernet Backhaul Direct (EBD), which are due to be introduced from 1st May 2016 (some others will follow on 1st August 2016).
The changes, which are all part of Openreach’s on-going regulator commitments to Ofcom, reveal some sharp price reductions and a few optional products now have no charge at all. Otherwise there are too many changes to list, but you can view last month’s Phase One Price Changes here and the latest Phase Two Price Changes here.

Interestingly the EAD connection charges (excluding those for Resilient Option1 variants and shifts) include a revised Excess Construction Charge (ECC) Fixed Fee of £663.50 to help fund the initial ECC exemption of £2,800. Other ECC’s fees have also seen increases, as well as a few decreases.
