UK ISP Virgin Media Slashes Standalone Cable Broadband Prices

Cable operator Virgin Media has sharply cut the price of their standalone (solus) 50Mbps, 100Mbps and 200Mbps ultrafast broadband packages for the first 12 months of service, which returns them to the same attractively low level that they briefly held during the Black Friday event.

All customers are subject to a 12 month contract and receive a free SuperHub wireless router, unlimited usage, free access to Virgin’s WiFi hotspots (e.g. London Underground Stations), free Internet security / Parental Controls and free email. A £14.99 one-off activation applies and some people may also be charged £40 for standard installation.

Price: £18 per month for 12 months (£32.25 thereafter)

VIVID 100 broadband
Price: £23 per month for 12 months (£37.25 thereafter)

VIVID 200 Fibre Broadband
Price: £31 per month for 12 months (£45.25 thereafter)

Price: £45 per month for 12 months (£50.25 thereafter)

The new promotion is expected to run until late December 2016.
