EE Adds Welsh Language Support and Pledges 4G Boost for Wales

Friday, June 2nd, 2017 (3:11 pm) - Score 694

Mobile operator EE has introduced Welsh language customer service for people in Wales and confirmed that they intend to boost 4G geographic network coverage of Wales from 40% at the start of 2016 to 90% by the end of 2017 (overall UK coverage will reach 95% by the same date).

Apparently customers in Wales will now be able to request a call from EE’s dedicated Welsh-speaking customer service team via TEXT message or online via their website. In stores, customers will also be able to identify fluent Welsh speaking staff members by the Welsh flag featured on their name badge.

On top of that EE said that they have also tripled mobile network capacity in Cardiff city centre ahead of the UEFA Champions League final.

Marc Allera, EE CEO, said:

“We’re working to provide our customers with the best 4G coverage and customer service in Wales. That’s why we’re boosting our 4G network across the country, and we’re proud to be the first mobile operator to provide the option to speak to us in Welsh, whether requesting a call back from the outstanding team in Merthyr Tydfil or visiting us in many of our retail stores across Wales.”

End.

Its because contractually it has to for ESMCP/ESN and its obliged to reach a minimum of 90% in its commitment to government in 2016 as part of the new ECC.
