Virgin Media UK to Create 98 New Support Staff in Sheffield

Cable broadband ISP Virgin Media has announced that they’re recruiting for 98 new positions at their Sheffield contact centre, which is on top of the 500 customer service jobs (here) that were recently brought back to the UK following COVID-19 related lockdowns in other countries (where they’ve previously outsourced).

The new roles, which range from sales advisers through to team managers, will support their mobile sales teams and complement the in-sourcing of more than 1,600 roles that has occurred over the past three months. On the flip side they recently announced a decision to close all 53 of their remaining high street stores (here), which impacted 341 staff (they were offered alternative roles).

Rob Orr, Executive Director for Sales at Virgin Media, said: “By creating more UK based contact centre roles, we’ll be able to give our customers a first-class service while creating new opportunities at a time when many people are looking for work. We’re looking for a broad range of applicants from all backgrounds, so anyone looking for a new challenge at one of the country’s most dynamic and fun companies should apply.”

Take note that if applying for roles from outside of Sheffield to send them an email too as they automatically bin your application…

    1. Avatar photo greg says:

Grow up, they will not auto bin any application just based on where you are from. What an idiotic comment.

    2. Avatar photo JP says:

They told me themselves Greg. Then reopened my application when I said I was planning to relocate.

Agree with greg, stop your lying, stop your trolling VM news items, and grow up.

Think you might want to have a look at this then, https://imgur.com/a/VaAKD0x

Not everybody is a troll .

      Thanks,

clearly fake unless overly compressed and rezied banner images is what they are using in emails now.

Also clearly fake your desire to work for them considering what you think of their customer service…

Also clear you just have a personal issue with them given that is 2 VM news items in a row now where the opening comment is from you and both opening comments are whinges.

      GET A LIFE

      Lmao, your hilarious.

Telling me to get a life but yet your invested in saying I’m lying and searching for previous posts of mine,

I don’t have any personal ‘issues’ with Virgin, its just where my experiance is and has been for 10 years and while I was somewhat miffed that my application that detailed information relating to the role and also my personal circumstances (ie. relocation) was completely overlooked due to automation during employment process I can’t say I hold a grudge against them as much as I do the next employer or ISP.

(Remember they came back and gave me the opportunity again, however after getting all the information I decided to not go ahead as I feel my assets are on the technical side)

I’m still confused as to why you are trying to question my experiance, Have you had different experiance or are you just trying to disqualify my comments (which may somewhat be a form of trolling)

Feel free to open a temporary email account and share it here and I’ll forward you the email if you aren’t satisfied with my cut using Samsung Dex.

Otherwise aren’t we just wasting our time here and arguing before school even starts.

Searching for your previous posts! Jezzus MAX you are a little spaz the link they gave to your other dribble is literally only 6 stories down from this one. You literally made that other post they link to one single day ago. There was nothing for him to go and search he probably read it minutes apart from your trash in this item.

Maybe they just did not want to employ you as you seem to have an uncanny inability to use a full-stop anywhere except the end of a paragraph. Maybe they just did not want you because as already spotted you are full of it. Maybe they did not want you because like everything you post on here it is utter fantasy like you FTTPOD orders from Cerberus on thinkbroadband. Or maybe, just maybe like everything VM related you post it is complete poppy cock made up in your deluded little head.

Whatever VM did to you in the past is the only thing id love to know because that would indeed be darn funny.

Haha you think I’m somebody else.

Not interested in discussing this anymore, your acting like morons over a simple note of advice for those considering applying for a job.

      Toodles.

      “Lmao, your hilarious.”

      You’re Unemployable

“I feel my assets are on the technical side”

Technical… Like not knowing how many upstreams VM hubs are capable of.

“Feel free to open a temporary email account and share it here and I’ll forward you the email”

Nah, i have no intention to enter your make believe world or entertain your MS Paint skills any further.

      @Jamie

Sorry but that post is too “make sense” to be Max – also it reads properly where as MAX’s never do. If you have a look at his posts on the 600mbps thread you will see what I mean. On there he is ” Arthur” and “F.A.O of Virgin Media Boss **READ THIS**” – see the difference to the above post?

Just saying ( and I am a woman called Sandra before you accuse me of being someone else too!)

That’s great news on job creation. The jobs will be more or less favoured from the locality region(s).
Yet, the quality of service overall remains appalling.

  3. Avatar photo Buggerlugz says:

Bet it’d be like working in the Whitehouse currently.

    1. Avatar photo edward says:

You mean at least another 4 years worth of work.

  4. Avatar photo Jamie says:

They are digging holes around Chesterfield over the next few months so could be to support these new customers.
