Full fibre broadband ISP Hyperoptic UK has reached a new agreement with LinkLiving and their partner Link Housing, Scotland’s second-largest social housing landlord, which will see them deploy their “gigabit-capable” (FTTP/B) network to homes for young adults who have recently been homeless in the city of Edinburgh.
The move follows only a couple of weeks after the provider separately donated IT equipment and dongles in the same city to help enable 17 low-income households in the port district of Leith to get online and access essential services (here).
LinkLiving is also supporting these young people to gain the skills required to “manage a tenancy and move towards positive outcomes in life,” which forms part of a separate project funded by City of Edinburgh Council.

John McCabe, Hyperoptic’s Head of Business Development, said:
“Fast and reliable broadband has the power to change lives. That’s why supplying the most vulnerable tenants with our full fibre service was a strategic priority to both us and Link. Being connected is a key enabler for identifying job opportunities and government support – plus the best deals for utilities and shopping are now online.”
End.
