Infrastructure firm Magdalene (M Group Services) has secured another contract with Mobile Broadband Network Ltd, which will see them support Three UK’s new 5G focused Unilateral Street Works Build (USWB) programme. The firm is already supporting MBNLs Notice to Quit (NTQ) and Towers & Antennas (T&A) operations.
The contract scope includes; the deployment of new street works poles up to 20 metres in height; delivery of trenching and duct work to deploy new cabinets; and accompanying DICI activities, which will be delivered by 5G network equipment vendors (e.g. Ericsson).
Magdalene’s Managing Director, Mark Turner, said: “This new contract win with MBNL is another significant step forward for Magdalene’s mobile strategy and further strengthens our position in the mobile market. Once again, this contract will see Magdalene work alongside, and utilise the capabilities and scale of, Morrison Telecom Services and M Group Services.”

Why are Three going it alone with Unilateral applications? Is the intent to add EE in the future to those sites as part of the MBNL or has it all turned a bit sour? Or is it a smart move by Three appearing to want new sites of their own so they get approved whereas if they mentioned BT/EE they’d get refused?
“Magdalene” to support the beast system hey.
