City focused broadband ISP Hyperoptic, which is currently deploying their gigabit-capable FTTP/B network to homes across parts of 43 UK towns and cities (mostly large apartment blocks), is about to open a new HQ in Kings House, Hammersmith (London) – complementing existing offices in West London, Manchester and Reading.

The new contemporary headquarters are said to have been aligned to the new smarter working practices that will support employees during and in a post-pandemic era. The onus has been on creating meeting spaces designed to enable creative collaboration, problem-solving and workshopping between teams – whether they are in the building or working from home.

Across two floors, Hyperoptic will have 13 meeting rooms, 12 breakout areas, a curved “war room,” demonstration zone and a large training centre – all with touchscreen booking capabilities. Numerous refreshment zones will also be available, alongside a wellness room with personalised audio sensory features, which staff will be encouraged to use to relax and take time out.

The main boardroom will also overlook a nature-inspired “green roof,” which has been designed to support local wildlife. Sounds like a nice environment to work.

Naleena Gururani, Hyperoptic’s Chief People Officer, said:

“Our people are our greatest asset, which is why their needs have been front of mind in the development of our new headquarters. Put simply, we wanted to create a safe space that would give them the best working experience.

Throughout the pandemic, we have seamlessly adjusted to new working practices that have changed what the notion of a traditional office should be. We believe that the new office should be a showcase of what’s best in our culture and a reliable resource, which employees can use when they want to come together to collaborate and create amazing things. We are confident that we have created this at Kings House and we look forward to welcoming our colleagues over the coming months.”

At present the provider’s network is already known to cover well over 400,000 premises and they hold an ambition to cover 2 million UK premises by the end of 2021, followed by 5 million come the end of 2024 (mostly in urban areas). However, Hyperoptic have been fairly quiet on new rollout updates since last year’s acquisition by global investment firm KKR (here) and that first target of 2 million premises is fast approaching.

      Yup

But their network works pretty reliably.

      Millennials like their perks.

If they think it is good business – why not?

this is news how? That said, the term, “war room” speaks volumes of their culture – and insensitive they announce it during Remembrance week.

A lot of businesses call them “war rooms”, it’s not uncommon to call them that and hardly “insensitive” during remembrance week. Sheesh.
