The Telecom Acquisitions Group (Global4) has today announced that they’ve acquired yet another UK broadband ISP and phone provider in the shape of Poole-based Hive Telecom, which follows a series of prior acquisitions that included Home Telecom, Eclipse Broadband, Fleur Telecom and Weekly Broadband.
No details on the deal itself or how it will impact existing customers were provided, although its impact will be limited as Hive is a relative minnow in the ISP space and typically sells services via BT and TalkTalk’s platforms. The group itself is now home to over 60,000 clients, and they are planning to double the size over the next two years.
“Our organic growth is well structured and avoids the need of comparisons sites, with us acquiring small bases from companies that focus on the B2B marketplace. This has proved a great success in freeing up their time-consuming residential customers, allowing businesses to concentrate on their main focus of their prestige customers,” said the announcement.
The group added that they are interested in acquiring any business that have residential customers, particularly where residential is not the businesses focus.
This is the problem with smaller providers, they get gobbled up by large companies. By all accounts, this global 4 is trusted by Mothercare and brighthouse, which is very strange as they don’t exist any more.
