Mobile operator and broadband ISP Virgin Media (VMO2) has opened applications for 125 field engineer apprenticeship positions to help rollout their full fibre (FTTP) and 5g mobile networks across the UK. Most of the positions will be filled in London, Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham, Glasgow and Leicester.
The move is part of last year’s commitment to create 1,000 apprenticeship roles and the operator has already managed to fill more than 500 of those, including in network engineering, cyber security, and digital marketing. The apprenticeship scheme lasts 15 months, but every apprentice who successfully completes it is guaranteed a role within the company. All roles require no qualifications or prior experience.
Each apprentice can expect to receive training and support worth up to £7,000 throughout their programme. All field engineer apprentices work towards a Level 2 Telecoms Field qualification.

Is there a link to this, as when you go to https://careers.virginmedia.com/apply/. It says there are no field engineer jobs across the whole country?
If you filter by apprentice there are 46 roles under ‘Field Engineer Apprentice’ I guess some locations are looking for more than 1
Mark,
These apprentices will eventually be service technicians, so won’t be helping role out the network as such, but will be installing/fault fixing at the customer premises
Thanks
