New customers who join BT’s fibre (FTTC, G.fast and FTTP) based home broadband packages may like to know that the ISP has introduced several significant discounts that will run for the next week or so, which removes their upfront charges and cuts the monthly rental for the entire 24-month of their contract term.
Customers can generally expect to receive an included wireless router, a 24-month contract term, unlimited data usage, Virus Protect, Parental Controls, the Stay Fast Guarantee (i.e. get the speeds they promise or £20 back) and free access to BT’s national network of public WiFi hotspots. Anybody taking the operator’s optional phone service will also get nuisance call blocking via Call Protect.
BT typically offers a lot of different package variations, thus the new prices that we’ve listed below are only for their data only plans (no phone service) and some of those also give customers a prepaid MasterCard (Reward Card) when they join. Take note that their top 500Mbps and 900Mbps tiers also give away Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for a limited time (6 and 12 months, respectively).
Package | Monthly Price (Post-Contract) | Reward Card (Prepaid Mastercard) |
Fibre Essential (36Mb) | £26.99 (£31.99) | £0 |
Fibre 1 (50Mb) | £31.99 (£36.99) | £70 |
Fibre 2 (67Mb) | £29.99 (£34.99) | £100 |
Full Fibre 100 (150Mb) | £29.99 (£34.99) | £50 |
Full Fibre 500 (500Mb) | £34.99 (£39.99) | £50 |
Full Fibre 900 (900Mb) | £44.99 (£49.99) | £50 |
Take note that BT often adopts regional pricing discounts, and thus their packages may differ a bit between certain specific locations. In addition, we’re unsure why BT’s post-contract pricing is cheaper on Fibre 2 than Fibre 1, but that’s what it states in their small print, although we think they made a mistake there because ‘Fibre 2 without Landline‘ states that it also includes unlimited weekend calls, which can’t be true.
