Broadband ISP ZYBRE Offloads UK Openreach Based Customers

The situation at troubled internet provider ZYBRE (Air Broadband) appears to have experienced another twist after some customers, specifically those on Openreach based broadband packages, reportedly received a new email that stated the provider would be “ceasing” related services and switching users to a new ISP.

The broadband ISP has so far suffered from a variety of problems over the past couple of months – following its acquisition of Air Broadband, which has resulted in disputes with several of its network partners (e.g. CityFibre, OFNL, LilaConnect (VX FIBER) and FullFibre Limited) and the partial migration of their base to rival providers. Not to mention how the fallout from all this has impacted the customers themselves.

On top of that, the provider’s records at Companies House were recently updated to report that they’ve been issued with a “First Gazette notice for compulsory strike-off” (here), which puts ZYBRE Limited at risk of being struck off from the official register of companies. But they still have a bit of time left to try and resolve that (NOTE: In October 2022 another company called ZYBRE Group was incorporated by the same Directors).

The latest development to hit is that those on ZYBRE’s Openreach based packages appear to be the next in line to experience a migration. According to the latest email, customers are to be switched away to a little-known ISP called Beast Broadband, which has very little information on their website, and nor could we see an Ofcom approved complaints handler listed.

Copy of ZYBRE’s Customer Email

Dear XXXXXXXXXXXX,

ZYBRE will be ceasing its services to customers operating on the underlying Openreach Network in the coming weeks, we would like to offer our sincerest apologies for this. In order to address and resolve this issue and ensure continuity of service for customers, ZYBRE has reached an agreement with Beast Broadband who will be migrating our existing broadband subscribers across to their platform.

What does this mean for you?

You can rest assured that your internet broadband speed will remain the same, and there will be no change to your existing contract terms. Beast Broadband will ensure a high degree of service to support all customers joining their platform.

What about my payments?

It is important that your payments with ZYBRE are up-to-date, so please ensure any outstanding payments are made, once paid you should cancel any direct debit you may have with ZYBRE. You can make payments via our payment hotline on 02392003713.

What are the next steps?

You can expect direct contact from Beast Broadband as a means of introduction and to arrange your migration to its service. Notification of the date that your existing broadband service to be migrated to Beast Broadband will be confirmed from Wednesday 24th May 2023 and it is expected to take place across the next couple of weeks. We expect minimal interruption to your internet service during this process.

Do I need to do anything else?

Beast Broadband may be required to reconfigure your router for service on their platform. Beast Broadband will contact you directly to confirm this during the process.

What if I don’t want to migrate to Beast Broadband?

Beast Broadband is a UK based Internet Service Provider, established in 2021 to offer gigabit broadband to its customers and are committed to offering the best possible support and giving outstanding value for money. We believe the migration to Beast Broadband offers the best solution for you; however, you can choose another ISP if preferred. You will need to make arrangements directly with a chosen supplier if you choose this option.

If you choose not to migrate to Beast Broadband or any other ISP, your service will still be migrated, and you will be offered free internet for a period of 14 days, after which, your service will be terminated from the 15th day without penalty.

If you have any further questions or would simply like to talk to someone about the migration, please contact the Customer Service team as Beast Broadband on 03331887788 or via email at support@beast-broadband.co.uk, stating that you are a migrating ZYBRE customer, the team will be more than happy to help.

Yours faithfully,

Jonathan Robinson
CEO, ZYBRE

Beast Broadband are late filing their accounts.. Sounds like a great move for these customers…..

No, they are not late with the accounts. They are not due till November 2023. They’ve just not completed the annual confirmation statement (confirming company details are correct). To be sure, it must be completed, as it’s a legal requirement. But it doesn’t mean much at this stage… Mine’s due late December, and I nearly always forget (until I get an email reminder) because of Xmas and New Year.

That said, the sole director, incorporated a new company, Utility Experts Ltd, in Feb this year.

I am really curious, as a couple of people suggested this. Is the downfall of AirBroadband/Zybre all largely due to them offering a really good social broadband deal?

    1. Avatar photo Highlander says:

No, it isn’t. It is entirely down to mismanagement by Zybre’s cowboy directors. If I’m wrong I look forward to fighting the slander in court These people and the few others like them have hurt their customers and damaged consumer confidence in smaller service providers.

      Can’t disagree with that ^

Christ, I thought Aquiss were small. Beast are 1:10th the size and in debt, doesn’t seem like a very smart move…
