The wholesale division of broadband ISP TalkTalk has this week announced that they’ve signed a new agreement with business provider Gamma Communications, which will extend their existing “25-year partnership” to run for another three years until at least April 2026.
The announcement, which also states that the pair have “worked together since 2002” (wouldn’t that be 21 years rather than 25?), contains precious little detail, although historically the ISP has supplied Gamma with various Ethernet connectivity solutions that they’ve used to serve business customers.
However, it’s worth noting that TalkTalk is currently facing the prospect of a break-up due to debt pressures, which could result in the business and wholesale divisions being sold off (here). In that sense, today’s news may be partly about advertising their value, and security of existing (major) relationships, to a prospective buyer.

Tom O’Hagan, MD of TalkTalk’s Business Wholesale Services, said:
“I am delighted to continue our longstanding relationship with our partner Gamma, which continues to deliver for us both as we move to the next generation of products.”
The next generation products they’re referring to above probably reflect the new optical fibre based Ethernet solutions from suppliers like Openreach and CityFibre etc.
Thought TTB is out of businesss?
TTB and TTW are still very much running:

I believe Gamma provide voice services for TalkTalk…
As TalkTalk are one of Cityfibre’s main customers, should I be concerned about the impact of TT’s breakup on Cityfibre?
I’m not entirely sure why this is a question that needs to be presented here. If you are a CityFibre Employee, take the question to your upline manager or department head.
@Martin Pitt – Not sure if that’s good advice, earlier this year the CEO was saying everything’s going great, then made 400 people redundant.
