Customers of Virgin Media’s UK broadband ISP packages and O2’s mobile plans may be interested to know that they’ll get early access to thousands of TEKKEN 8 (video game) closed beta codes, which will be playable across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and the Steam platforms between 20th to 23rd October 2023.
TEKKEN 8 is the latest entry of the legendary fighting game franchise from Bandai Namco Entertainment and VMO2’s customers will be able to access the closed beta, which is already available for pre-download, via the operator’s Priority App (this link takes you right to it).
The closed beta test (CBT) itself will let players test online head-to-head competitive play with cross-platform matching, raising the level of competition by letting them pair with others regardless of where they play. They will also be able to test the TEKKEN Fight Lounge, an immersive lobby where players can interact with one another and access new features and game modes.

The CBT will have 19 characters that include many returning favourites as well as new fighters. Jin, Kazuya, Jun, Paul, Law, King, Lars, Jack-8, Xiaoyu, Nina, Leroy, Lili, Asuka, Hwoarang, Bryan, Claudio are coming back to this beta test, while Azucena, Raven, and the newly announced Feng will join the playable roster. Sadly, Postman Pat’s cat, Jess, was not listed.
The announcement also includes some detail on TEKKEN 8’s backstory, but it’s generally not one of those games where the end-user is likely to care much about the “story”.
