The boss of full fibre broadband operator Netomnia and ISP YouFibre, Jeremy Chelot, has today been voted as the Network Representative for the Board of the One Touch Switching Company, which is responsible for implementing Ofcom’s OTS (One Touch Switch) solution for faster consumer switching between UK ISPs.
The TOTSCo board currently comprises nine directors, with six drawn from the industry and elected by its members, and three independent directors, including the Chairman, nominated by the board. The company’s CEO, Paul Bradbury, also attends all board meetings.
Gita Sorensen of GOS Consulting and INCA previously represented “New infrastructure providers” (i.e. mostly representing alternative networks) on the Board. But we’ve just had it confirmed that outspoken CEO Jeremy Chelot has this afternoon been voted in to replace her as network representative.

TOTSCo recently announced that it would next aim for the new switching system to go live on 12th September 2024 (here), which comes after it suffered several delays that have frustrated consumers, Ofcom and many smaller network operators. Ofcom has previously singled out BT, Sky Broadband, TalkTalk and Virgin Media (VMO2) for not being able to complete the necessary trials in time for the previous go-live date (14th March 2024).
In theory, OTS should expand the existing Gaining Provider Led (GPL) migration system to work across separate networks (the old system was mostly focused on Openreach based ISPs) and to action switches within just one day instead of ten “where technically possible“. Suffice to say, this would make the market much easier for consumers to navigate, but it’s also a nightmarishly difficult thing to organise and implement.
finally someone who can finish the job.
Because of all those finished Netomnia rollouts?
Here, you dropped this -> ‘/s’
Netomnia had 1m homes as a goal for a few months ago but they are not that far off, bizarre comment
Yeah Dover and Temple Ewell were a great success of a roll out. Houses promised by letter and not delivered in the end despite poles and chambers being there. Right let down. FTTC cabinets (mine is 11) full and Vermin Media is another story….Hoping they are just waiting on BT for stuff and then I might be happy again. At the moment, let down is mild.
Please finish Bedford.
Please.
Yeah netomnia arrived in West Lothian with loads of advertising and promises. 2 years later still not a sign of any fibre. Don’t think they could run a bath never mind a roll out.
That’s not true, at least 10k homes live in that specific area

You don’t have the slightest idea of the intricacies in implementing infrastructure in country as old and full of red tape as the UK.
You think anyone that makes decisions at NO or YF care about your snarky entitled comment? No. Because they don’t owe you anything. I hope they cover the entire town and miss your house.
Apart from your obvious attitude problem at other posters, a lot of red tape was actually cut under permitted development and enablement of PIA with BT.
pay no attention to them. they’re the same ones who will slander the likes of virgin media or their chosen mobile phone provider, but woe betide anyone who gets in the way of their favourite ISP CEO. I don’t understand this CEO worship stuff. It’s like Elon Musk fanboys. I also don’t think they know what the word “Entitled” means.
@No fibre here, I’m currently speaking with them and tracking the rollout across West Lothian there are reasons for not doing certain areas etc
As with any business, places they can save money and get the biggest ROI before they continue to other bit that cost more the reach
Jeremy is a good guy, takes ownership of issues, not afraid to push things forward, he’s vocal and doesn’t shy away, we need more people like him in the industry
Pity he can’t manage to roll out any services to an area without skipping and leaving parts out. Gets paid money to hook up a city and leaves parts out and goes and does outer parts of the city not even classed as within the city. The city is Derry btw.
They claim they ran out of money to do my area, yet checking the coverage they are still doing areas, a few miles outside of the city? If you’re gonna say you’re covering a city, do it. Stop this patchy crap. Or announce areas of Citys. Rant over.
Unless I’m missing something he didn’t get paid anything to do Derry, all their own money. As far as I know no-one has been paid in advance to build anywhere, all upon delivery.
Besides the point, they never finish anything, as the comments above confirm else where.
Fibrus took state money to cover NI, the same did not happen with Netomnia. Also everytime I notice TBB they have more and more homes live, it’s not like they declared the town finished
No-one does every street in their deployment. The amount missing varies but essentially nowhere has 100% coverage. End of the day it’s their money, they can spend it as they please. If they overspend they have to increase prices or go bankrupt.
Coverage seems all over the place and I believe they hit some issues on the ground not within their direct control. Looks like they’ve some things they would want to finish.
Do you have Openreach FTTP available? Their coverage is pretty comprehensive with fewer gaps. Besides given your dislike for Netomnia I doubt you’d want to use them.
fellow Derry man – there’s a common theme with their current RFS locations in Derry – they’re predominantly existing OH feeds, terraced housing with a splash of recently built estates being covered. They’re likely offsetting their expensive build elsewhere.
I’m sure they’ll get round to doing more of the town as time progresses, as others have said, they haven’t called it out as complete just yet.
