Broadband, phone and pay TV provider Virgin Media (O2) has notified its customers that their Community Forum platform will tomorrow – starting at around 10am – go through a “major upgrade“, which will see the ISP switch from using the older Khoros ‘Classic’ platform over to the modern ‘Aurora’ one.
The community, which will be offline for the duration of the upgrade process (it’s expected to return by the afternoon or late evening), should then return with a “different look and feel“. For those with an interest in this sort of thing, you can get a better idea of what changes this will introduce by visiting the Khoros website here and here.
UPDATE 16th Jan 2025 @ 1:29pm

The upgrade has now completed, and the forum is back online with its new look.

Nothing wrong with the classic style forums like what ISPR uses, though I do like Discourse as a forum software
+1, the ispr forum is excellent!
It even renders without JavaScript, that’s golden and great for accessibility.
UPDATE1: VM forums down as of 10:30 whilst platform is updated.
UPDATE2: By 13:00, VM forums are back up and running under new Khorus Aurora.
UPDATE3: Not all the forum threads returned yet, VOLT, MY ACCOUNT and PHONE are missing and replies to topics in other threads seems disabled. Still work going on……
UPDATE4: VM are having a small issue with enabling private messages so they’ve placed the community in a read only state. Once VM have fixed this they will fully push the update and ability to post or reply will return.
UPDATE5: VM forums now enabled for replies and previous threads from old forum returned.
Each thread has become “load more”. Some things I just don’t understand.
