The mobile operator division of supermarket chain ASDA, which is powered by a virtual network operator (MVNO) agreement with Vodafone, has just launched a refreshed SIM-Only range with a reduced number of products, featuring reduced pricing across some of their key plans.
The changes are too subtle and numerous to list in full, but a bunch of older plans have been removed, while others have had their prices cut. For example, ASDA Mobile’s Pay Monthly unlimited data plan on a 24-month term now costs £19 per month instead of £23 and their 60GB data (mobile broadband) plan has similarly been cut from £17 to £15. Shorter 12-month terms are also available, albeit at extra cost.
Almost all of ASDA’s mobile plans include unlimited minutes and calls, no commitments or credit checks, inclusive roaming in 46 European destinations and 5G support. But one catch is that they’re no longer offering any Pay Monthly plans with a short 30-day contract term, although the closest thing to that is still their PAYG plans.

I’ll stay with Lebara
Yeah definitely. Lebara all the way!
I would love to join lebara but they don’t offer free roaming in Switzerland
No commitment or credit checks, yet you’re committed to a 24 month term as they don’t offer 30 day rolling contracts anymore
Lol 24 month contract with Asda Mobile. No thanks.
I’ve been with Giff Gaff since 2012, not moving, £20 rolling contract 280Gb for 18 months with almost guarantee the data will increase!
I know they’re not everyone’s cup of tea…. Just awaiting for 3G switch off in the Rhondda though…. Patience is a virtue
Wow, that is a long time to stay with them. I have been with Smarty for 5 years, I have looked around but to be honest, no point in changing. A fiver a month for 4GB of data, unlimited text and calls, do me fine.
I do have a peek at others now and again.
As for Asda, not interested in anything that ties me into a contract.
Wow the slowest network with the worst coverage nothing to be proud of.
And no e-sim.
Tesco mobile succeeded far batter because of their mini shops in shops and they use TV adverts more than ASDA. Tesco also add a few cheeky boost boxes in their stores to sort of create a monopoly whilst consumers shop. ASDA mobile is like an unheard of pint in a pub where Tesco would be well known such as Stella.
For folks already paying for monthly plans I assume they’ll continue as normal? I’ve been on an unlimited data plan (debit card payment automatically once per month) for some years now and it has always been a reliable signal where I am.
