Broadband ISPs Brsk and YouFibre Launch Black Friday Sale – Make WiFi 7 Standard

Brsk Back of Engineers Van

Sister UK ISPs Brsk and YouFibre (Netomnia) will today launch special Black Friday pricing across their range of broadband packages. On top of that, Brsk also confirmed that their new WiFi 7 routers will, from today (1st Oct 2025), be included as standard for all new customer orders (YouFibre did the same in August – here).

In terms of the early Black Friday discounts, we note that Brsk’s symmetric speed mid-tier 500Mbps package on an 18-month term has now been reduced to £29 per month (down from £30), while 1000Mbps has been cut to £30 per month (down from £35) and the biggest discount of all sees their 2000Mbps tier dropping to just £35 per month (down from £55). All packages include a wireless router and free installation.

NOTE: The Substantial Group (Netomnia) is backed by over £1.6bn of equity and debt from investors Advencap, DigitalBridge, and Soho Square Capital etc. The group aims to cover 3 million UK premises by the end of 2025 (currently on 2.7m) and then 5m by the end of 2027 (inc. 1m customers by 2028). The service is currently available across parts of over 90 cities and towns.

At the same time YouFibre will discount their similar 1Gbps broadband package from £33.99 to £29.99 per month, while their 2Gbps tier is set to drop from £49.99 to just £34.99. YouFibre clarified that this offer will be available for both new and existing customers to take until 1st December 2025.

Finally, Brsk will today introduce their new WiFi 7 routers and make them standard for all new customers. The hardware they’re adopting is expected to mirror the kit used by YouFibre.

Why advertise the 500 tier at all? I mean who in their right is not going accept 1/2 speed to save £1 a month??

    1. Avatar photo No longer waiting in Wrexham says:

It’s not to sell the 500 but the 1 and 2 GB package!

    2. Avatar photo Ad47uk says:

This is what they seem to do, I mean all of them, have the higher speed either cheaper or just slightly higher in cost than the lower speed, then at the end of the contract, stick the price up and hope people will stay where they are.

The network I am with, if I changed to a lower speed I will pay a couple of quid less, maybe.

They all do it, none of them are any better in this respect.

    3. Avatar photo 125us says:

How do you mean ‘better’? ISPs price their products to achieve their goals in the marketplace.

Product price is not related to product cost apart from the former generally being higher than the latter. This shouldn’t be news, it’s how the world works.

Setting a price to nudge customers up to a higher value item for just a little more is common across many, many industries. The car industry has done it for half a century.

  2. Avatar photo Phil says:

Seem way too early for Black Friday?

    1. Avatar photo 125us says:

I’m sure they’d accept you paying the higher prices if the timing is a serious concern for you.

  3. Avatar photo Jack says:

    Mother……..

I had just signed up with them too.

Guess I’ll try giving support a shout

    1. Avatar photo Jack says:

Update: I did drop sales a message, but thought I see what would happen if I pushed the “upgrade broadband” button in the user area of the site, and the system offered me 1000/1000 for £30 p/m (was on 500/500 doe £30 p/m). So if your in the same boat as me, it might be worth a try! The site did that I would have to start the 18 month contract again, but as I was only 2 days into my contract anyway, I thought that would be acceptable. 🙂

    2. Avatar photo For the love of fttp says:

Same for me. Had installed Monday.
I tried pushing the upgrade button but got an error guess a lot of people are doing it. Also on the wifi 6 router not 7 so have asked support about that too.. hopefully we get an answer.

    3. Avatar photo Gary says:

The upgrade option didn’t work on iPhone / Safari, however did work on Chrome on Windows. I’m in same boat, just took the contract out. Shame there seems to be no way to get the Wi-Fi 7 router as they provided me the TP-Link Wi-Fi 6 model: EX820v. I must say I am very impressed with how there systems work, and how reactive everything is.

I put a ticket in yesterday didn’t get a response which is fine its only 24 hours ago. Though they don’t give you an email to say your ticket is in.

Anyway to upgrade yourself log in to the portal under your account andb plan details you should be able to upgrade.. only via a PC or laptop it won’t work on a Web browser on your phone for some reason.
I’m now paying approx 1 or 2 pounds more for double the speed. I just reset the router and ONT and it all went through. Just note it does say you will have a new contract date so if you’ve just started your contract thats should be ok but if you started 3 months ago you might not be too happy

    > YouFibre clarified that this offer will only be available for new customers to take until 1st December 2025.

Well, it didn’t take them long to go back on their loyalty promise. Quoting their contract renewal email:

“As part of our loyalty promise, you can renew on the best deal currently available (at the same prices currently offered to new customers). That’s one, fair price for everyone.”

    1. Mark-Jackson Mark Jackson says:

We’re just been told that it’s available for both new and existing customers.

    2. Avatar photo Ryan MD says:

Hi Nate, the offer is available for all customers new and existing (if they recontract) with YouFibre. I’m sorry for any confusion here.

    3. Avatar photo Matt A says:

I think someone needs to tell the chat agents that this is for existing customers too. I see that the T&Cs have been updated:

(iii) existing YouFibre customers upgrading their current speed and signing up for a new 18-month contract term.

But I’ve just been told on chat that I’m not allowed to upgrade from 1000 to 2000 on a new contract and get the deal because I’m already in an 18 month contract?! They said it would be £49.99 for me.

  5. Avatar photo For the love of Fibre says:

Just signed up for brsk. I asked them about wifi 7 and 6 they said ill get a wifi 6 tp link router. They literally installed it on Monday.
Would the be available to existing customers and what brand is the router?
Id rather upgrade to the wifi 7 router if I have just signed up is all

  6. Avatar photo Benny says:

Just signed up for BRSK. They confirmed I am getting a WiFi 7 router.

No mid contract rises and they are buying out my old BT contract. Happy Days

Finally going to get real symmetrical fibre.

    1. Avatar photo Benny says:

BRSK indtalled. Phone ports over after two weeks somehow and the internet works great. I got a wifi 6 router and will update after.

Installer said they haven’t got the new wifi 7 routers distributed yet.

  7. Avatar photo Niall says:

Are the YouFibre contracts only 18 months? Signed up in 2023 for 24 months so coming to the end of £24.99 for 1gb.

Not loving these prices but locking in with no price hikes will swing it.

  8. Avatar photo Shaukat says:

Just upgraded to 2Gig from 1Gig, with a static IP, paying 40 GBP. Also had to order a 10gig Sfp module for the unifi gateway to cater for the upgrade.

  9. Avatar photo Simon says:

Does anyone know where existing customers stand? This is basically forcing them to pay 61% more than s new customer – and in some cases brsk are refusing to let existing customer re contract. Is it worth reporting this to OFCOM?

61% is a pretty subsctantial indirect price increase.

    1. Avatar photo For the love of fttp says:

Hey Simon you can rejoin under the new price under your account. Unfortunately this will only work on a PC and not your mobile browser.
In addition you are signing in to a new 18 month contract. I recently signed up and had it installed and about 2 days later the black Friday sale happened. I was frustrated. I had submitted a ticket on the 1st which hasnt been responded to but managed to get the 1gb plan using the portal at the cheaper rate. Still waiting on the ticket to be responded to for the wifi 7 router (funnily enough i asked about this when I signed up)

    2. Avatar photo Simon says:

You were within the 14 days so they would happily do it. I can’t as I am 9 months in- because I am already on 2Gbps and there is no way to restart the contract. I’ve been told I can’t have a lower price until renewal. I won’t be going back after renewal. Forcing existing customers to pay 61% more is just some Virgin Media trickery.

    3. Avatar photo Fibre for all says:

I’ve checked some Facebook groups and some had the same issue though some just signed up again on a laptop through the portal. Though the people who have issues signing up are those that are on the 2gbs plan. Would downgrading the plan then upgrading not work?

  10. Avatar photo Shaukat says:

On speaking to brsk today, as it’s been a week since placing an order for the 2 gig service, which according to the person i spoke with – has proved popular at the current price point. There is now an apparent delay in supplying WiFi 7 routers, and thus connecting new and upgrading customers. As there is no date for installations at present, depending on stock availability it could be sometime in October.

For those who need a WiFi 7 router is therefore in a queue ..

    1. Avatar photo FTTP FOR ALL says:

Could this be why the customer support agent u spoke to said it’s only available to customers on 2gbs. They said it was on their website but couldn’t find a reference to this.. they seemed a bit annoyed I asked.

  11. Avatar photo FTTP for all says:

BRSK customer support have just informed me that the new wifi 7 router will be made available to existing customers who sign up to the 2gbs plan and not all existing customers.
Bit of a shame really as brsk have been behind with their routers for a while (wifi 5 was still around until last year with wifi 6 routers only being made available last year)

    1. Avatar photo Shaukat says:

WiFi 7 router for self install upgrade – confirmed for week commencing 11th October
